Volunteer of the Year Awarded to Jim Brygger

Boys and Girls Home and Family Services, Inc. recognizes Jim Brygger with the Jeff Dible Volunteer of the Year Award for 2016. This award is given out annually to an outstanding volunteer whose leadership and commitment to the agency exceed expectations. It is named after Jeff Dible, in remembrance of his outstanding service and commitment to Boys and Girls Home.

This year’s recipient joins an impressive list of previous winners, including: Cecil Corbett, Virginia Peterson, Max Spain, Gretchen Hirschbach, Art Silva, Jayne McGuire, Eldon Roth, Karen Shaw, Tom Elsen, Chris Holman, Aaron Beutler, Dan Paquin, Jackie and Darrel Baker, Steve Stouffer, Jean Lewis, Julie Tebbe, Jackie Kaufman, St. Paul United Methodist Church, Sioux City Musketeers, Peggy Miller, Clint Vos and Randy Stabe.

Jim Brygger, long-time supporter of the mission of Boys and Girls Home, has shared his expertise, creativity, knowledge and heart with us since 1992, serving as the lead architect on nearly all of our major building projects. For many years, Boys and Girls Home contracted Jim’s services through the firm, Cannon, Moss and Brygger. On every project, he committed himself to learning not only the details of our building, licensing, and codes, but more importantly he committed himself to understanding the specific needs of each of our program areas; thereby influencing the needs of each client accessing care through the agency.

Jim retired from practice a few years ago, but his advice and counsel continued, many times saying with a smile, “I don’t need anything in payment. I just want to continue to help here because your work is important.”

Jim’s generous gifts of time, treasure and talent have positively influenced the quality of our care, the financial health of our agency and the visibility of our work. It is our pleasure to announce the 2016 Volunteer of the Year Award Winner, Jim Brygger.
